Standing Up!

So I know I just posted a blog, but I feel the need to do it again after downloading these pictures. My baby girl is growing up so fast! She is now pulling up on her own on everything, even my pants and shorts! Today she made it around part of the coffee table and she even tries to take her hands off the table, but soon finds out what it is like to hit bottom....literally! It is so unbelievable that she was born almost 9 months ago. It seems to have passed by so quickly. Soon we will be chasing after her even more when she starts becoming more mobile. Love you Abs!

This is her no pictures...no comments for the paparazzi pose!

Hanging at the Lake

Are we there yet?

So just to prepare those reading this...it will be a long one (for the long weekend).
We left last Friday and went to hang up at the lake house in Hot Springs with the James clan....well at least Joyce, Dennis, Rob, Noah and Luke. Melanie and Dude had to stay home in Oklahoma cause Dude was down with the sickness. This hanging at the lake house has become a tradition the past few years on Memorial Day weekend. Who would not enjoy a peaceful house overlooking a lake with wonderful people and weather, a mother-in-law that cooks like every meal and not just a simple meal but big, wonderful, tasty meals, a porch just ripe for rocking, drinking wine and good conversation. We stay unplugged pretty much the entire time we are there and it is nice. Unlike past years, it was a little too cold to go in the water, so no tubing, but we did take Miss Abby out on the lake and she seemed to be fine with it!

After we rode around on the lake, we went back and tried more finger foods. We got some Mum Mums which Jamie told us about because she used them with Alex. They are bigger than puffs so Abby is able to handle them a little better.

Abby seemed to enjoy having Luke and Noah around. She likes seeing other kids. She crawled all over the place and was pulling up like a champ.

One of the reasons we went was so we could participate in the Hot Springs Du for the Park. This is a 2 mile run, 12 mile bike, 2 mile run. Tracy, his dad and brother all participated last year. My goal was to beat the time Tracy had run last year, but alas I did not make it. I finished in about 1 hour 27 minutes. I will blame it partly on the weather (it rained during the first run and the bike) as well as a massive leg cramp that is still hurting right now! I came in 2nd in my division and at least finished. There is always next year. Tracy shaved 9 minutes off his time from last year and Dennis beat his time from last year too. Abby was there afterwards to cheer mom and dad on!
After our du, the boys participated in the kid version of it. It was shorter distances, but man can they compete! They both won medals in their divisions!

This was a wonderful weekend and am still recovering :)! One thing that happened was that Abby seems to really like Joyce now. Joyce was able to hold her and even watched her for a bit without Abby freaking out!

Laundry & Sunglasses

When I am gone, I usually trust that Tracy is taking wonderful care of our child. Apparently our daughter was a little needy when it was time for him to finish up our laundry and he felt she needed to watch. Did he put her in her Bumbo to watch and keep her contained? Noooooooooooooooo. He decided the best place for her was the laundry baskets (see below). He didn't even sort her the way she needed to be sorted :). He put her in the non-blue/non-red bin.
We went to H-town the other day to get a part on Tracy's car fixed as well as look for a bike rack for the Tahoe. At the Infiniti dealership they said...'Would you like a car wash, it will take about 30-45 minutes longer'...my husband 'No thanks, we don't want to wait'. It took forever at the dealership to fix a part they said would take 30 minutes. Come to find out, they washed his stupid car! This then delayed us to our next stop which was Babies R Us to research some car seats which then delayed us to the bike shop where it started pouring cats & dogs! Eventually we finished up our errands and ate at Cracker Barrell and then went home. When we got home, Kerri's aunt had given Abby some heart shaped sunglasses, which of course Abby wanted to model right away!
We will have a busy (but hopefully relaxing) Memorial Day weekend this coming week. We are going to Hot Springs to visit with the James family and then on Monday we have the Du at the Parks where Tracy, Dennis, Rob and I will be running 2 miles, biking 12 miles and running 2 more miles. I will be slow, but I will finish!

Crawling Machine

Abby just started crawling, but she is a crawling machine now. She crawls mostly on her hands and knees. She takes breaks to do downward dog poses and tries to push up on her feet. If she is on the tile too long she likes to bear crawl across it, I guess because the tile hurts her knees. She is too funny. She just started pulling up this week, but isn't too steady on her feet yet.

Last night people were over so Tracy could play Axis & Allies so Jamie and Alex came too. It is so funny watching Abby with Alex. She does everything Alex does. She is almost up her bottom she gets so close following Alex! The girls and Grisham love Rascal and he seems to enjoy them too although he acts like he isn't sure sometimes. They all just smile and get a kick out of his kisses. I think it is because he is so close to their size. Today we sat on a blanket outside and Rascal ran up and down and Abby and Grisham went crazy...all happy and smiles.

Last week we were over at Susan and Ricks for TTHL and Susan took the below pictures.

She is such a little chunk a monk! She is soooooooooo nosy (she gets that from both parents). She always has to be where the action is. I can go in the other room and she follows right along.

Just a Swingin'

Jamie took Abby and Alex to the park today since it was so nice out. They had the kiddie swings that she put Alex on one side and Abby on the other so they could help support each other and as you can see in the picture she took....Abby was NOT a fan of the swing! Riley wasn't a fan of the swings either when she was younger. The picture below was taken when Riley was 1 and was right before she bust out crying and we had to take her out!

Backlog

So I am a little behind on blogging. I so need to not wait a week to write because then I get backed up and tons of stuff happens that I want to report, sooooooooooooo be prepared for a long one today and I will try not to do this again :).
This past week was Jamies big 30th birthday. Josh took off for her birthday and I got to stay at home with Abby for the day. We spent the whole day with Grisham and Kerri. Grisham and Abby were soooooo not on the same schedule. When Abby was up, Grisham was down and vice versa. Abby however has realized that the toys are in a box that she can dump over and then access them...yay for my inquisitive child. I am sure there is much more to come (especially because I saw her today trying to climb onto her bookcase).

She also likes to practice her downward dog...my little yoga girl!

This past Friday was Cass's 30th birthday...it seems that everyone is having those these days. Luckily I am nowhere near 30 yet and can be young, wild and free :). Cass wanted to party it up in Austin. I drove there and we stayed at an awesome hotel and then went to eat at the amazing Hyde Park Bar & Grill. It was sooooooooo super yummy! After that we hopped on over to 6th street to party it up. However, I realized that I am a little old cause I was ready to go to bed but forced myself to stay up late.

At the hotel getting ready to go eat

The birthday girl...Cassandra Disbro

The girls at Halycon in Downtown Austin
While I was out, I was missing my baby girl so badly. She stayed at home with Daddy, Grisham, Kerri and Damien. Kerri made sure to take lots of pics and emailed them to me while I was out:

When I got home today I couldn't wait for Abby to wake up from her nap. When she did, we played lots and then went on some errands where she was great! We played some more when we got home.
Grisham...this is what we call a toy :)
This is my most favorite parent...Momma :)
I can't believe my baby turns 8 months this week!
This past week we have walked in on Abby sitting up in her crib with her hands on the edge of the crib and trying to peepeye over. We have walked in on her sitting up with a dragonfly in each hand pulling and playing. So......we figured it was time to lower the crib. Tracy didn't want to take apart the crib, so he felt it easiest to get under the crib to do so. I couldn't help but take pictures. The one picture I didn't get in time was when Abby crawled up to the crib and tried to get to Daddy.
Now Abby is asleep and this has been a wonderful week.
