Soooooooo Big!

My baby girl finally did it. Not only is she crawling (very slowly and unsteady but going just the same) and sitting up and eating big girl food, she said Momma! I wasn't the only witness so I know she said it! Only a month after saying Dadda did she finally recognize the cooler parent and say Momma :)!

When we went to pick up my little pumpkin, she had tears in her eyes. Apparently she is very scared of the big purple ball (size=bigger than a soccer ball). To prove this point, Jamie pulled it out and Abby started screaming. I hated hearing her cry, but it was so tough not to laugh because my little fraidy cat was scared of a purple ball! Hopefully she will grow out of that phase.

Right now I am listening to my husband talk about what kind of foot he has and what type of running shoe he needs to buy. He is reading some stuff online. He went and wet his foot and ran to see what kind of footprint it left behind and then compared this to what was on the site. I am also a little sad because I am watching my Braves lose to St. Louis :(. They are down 3-2 in the 9th so they could still pull it out. If they don't win then I have to listen to Randy Ivey at work tomorrow.

On a funny note, our friend Sarah sent us a picture that her father-in-law took of Abby at our annual crawfish boil. Hopefully none of you will call child services on us, but Abby took to the beer bottle quite well. No matter who was holding her at the time, if they had a beer bottle, she gravitated towards it (don't worry, no alcohol was consumed by Abbykins)!

TTHL and Milestone

Last night we hosted TTHL at our house. For those that are not TTHL familiar, it is Texas Tabletop Hockey League. Kind of similar to foosball but with hockey men and they can turn from side to side and such.

While that was going on, Ms. Abby was just a playing fool. She was just a happy camper to have everyone there and then paying attention to her. We did have a very exciting night though.....she crawled !!!! I didn't have the camera anywhere near so I wasn't quick enough to get pictures but I have witnesses. Up until now she has always just gone backwards but tonight she went forwards. She did it by using one knee (up on it) and then having the other leg in almost a walking position. She would put one knee forward and push with the other foot. She made it across her room. Soon we will have a mobile baby going forward. Alexandra must be a good teacher because she is learning quick.
After Abby went to bed and all the TTHL action was over, a few stayed behind and we played with the glow sticks Susan DeSantis gave to us.
This was Sarah after turning the lights off and she was 'hula hooping' with them.
I was 'raving' :) and then they turned on the lights and Tracy took a picture

Jumping Bean

When Kerri and Grisham moved in they brought Grisham's jumperoo! Abby loves her exersaucer but loves to jump and jump and jump so this jumperoo is perfect for her. She has a blast in it!

Smiling before jumping!

And.....TAKEOFF!
Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy full of fun....the wonderful things about Abby is I'm the only one...teehee!
Whew! I Love to bounce :)
This morning Abby did one of the most unselfish things I can think of....try to let Grisham play with Maurice! However, later in the day she would keep taking away the toys he was playing with and put them out of his grasp :) lol.
Well this weekend turned out totally unlike it was supposed to. Tracy and I have been training for months for the MS150. It was supposed to be this weekend. But, mother nature decided to step in and keep it from happening. It is the first time in 22 years that the event had to be canceled (well sort of). The first day was canceled and the riders rode today from LaGrange to Austin...yay for the MS80 :). On Friday we took off work early and went down to Katy to stay with Auntie Neen and Uncle Brian. We then found out that they had canceled Saturday's leg of the ride. We ate at my most favorite Mexican restaurant in Houston...Lupe Tortilla! Yesterday we tooled around Katy Mills and came back to College Station. Due to baby arrangements and other items, I was unable to ride. Tracy did and said it sucked big time and was so pooped that he is asleep and it is only 8 pm. No WOW for him tonight.
Today Abby and I just relaxed with Ms. Sarah and Crockpot for a little bit. We had coffee, went to the mall, Target and Kroger. This coming week will be a busy one. Tomorrow night I will be going to see the Wizard of Oz with MSC Opas, Volleyball on Tuesday, TTHL at our house on Wednesday, poker at our house on Friday, facials on Saturday :). Whew, how will I survive!

Lazy Easter Afternoon

We had a very uneventful Easter. It was pouring when we got up so we decided to be bad and not go to church....mainly because we didn't want to get Abby out in the messy weather. We played for awhile and then Abby dabby doo napped for awhile. Finally we all decided to go and eat the all u can eat fajitas at Casa Ole. Abby and Grisham decided they wanted to try refried beans. They both seemed to like it...Grisham's tummy didn't seem like he liked it because he tooted up a storm after that.....cheeeeeeeeeo!
When we got back, Tracy was cleaning up the back, Kerri, Grisham, Abby and I played on a blanket in the front yard. From the picture above, anytime Abby sees a camera she just stares. I couldn't get a good picture, but she also has a supermodel pinup pose where she turns towards her back with her hand on her hip. I will try to get a picture of it and post it sometime.
When Kerri put Grisham next to Abby she decided she wanted to pet him :). She just kept petting his head lol.

Crawfish & Showers

Yesterday was a very, very busy day. Well....actually my busyness started on Friday. I took that day off, woke up at 3:30 am and drove to Lake Charles, Louisiana. There my dad was waiting with Ms. Bobbi at the Isle of Capri and he unloaded 115 pounds of crawfish to me. We ate some breakfast and then it was back on the road for me where I drove right back to College Station. The rest of the day was busy preparing for Saturday.
Saturday started off with a lovely brunch and shower for Sarah! We had a good time and she got tons of cool gifts for their baby which I call Jack-Jack. I unfortunately did not have my camera available so there are no pics of that, but she looked very lovely and pregnant in a gorgeous chocolate brown dress with lots of polka dots in different colors.
After that was over, it was go time trying to get everything ready for our crawfish boil. There were around 40-45 adults plus a handful of kids around. By the end of the day there were only a few pounds of crawfish uneaten, but thanks to Trisha, John, Stacy, Susan and Rick, we peeled those leftovers for me to use later. All in all, it was a very successfull, yet tiring day! Luckily everyone was gone by around 8ish so we got to relax a little and go to bed early. I was pooped.
Among the guests were Grandma and Grandpa James. They just got back from Hawaii the day before. They had an Easter basket for Abby which included some cute little outfits in 12 months, which we need because that Chunky of a Monkey Abby is already wearing some 12 month clothes and she is only 7 months! Abby also had a stuffed bunny along with a book and onesie from Hawaii. This morning the Easter Bunny brought her several books and a couple of toys :).
Today was just a lazy day with Kerri Crocker and Grisham. They got settled in to their new environment and we just kind of chilled all day.
Below are pictures from yesterday's festivities:

CuddleBug

Abby has gotten to where she is very aware of items around her in her crib. She will grab at the mobile and try to pull the dragonflys down or play with her caterpillar....but when she is knocked out she likes her pink monkey. Pink monkey was the first toy she ever met after she was born and she is drawn to her when it is sleepy time.

These pictures are from this morning when I went to wake her up.

I am about to go and play a volleyball game at 10:15! I remember when that used to be early, but now it is late for this momma and I need my sleep :). I will be pooped tomorrow I am sure. Tomorrow starts our Tabletop Hockey League again. This is the year I will take something. I am always in the playoffs and win the first round and then go to poop. Fingers crossed!

Fun Run Pics

A little over a week ago we had our Annual Reynolds and Reynolds Fun Run. I spoke about it in a previous post. Well finally here are some pictures. The James Gang racked up!

Dennis ended up running another 18 miles the next day too! He is training for the Boston Marathon in a couple of weeks with Tracy's brother. Uncle Pops did it and I remember them saying it was tough....so a big good luck to the James boys participating in it.

What is this thing they call the 'Remote'

Abby has been absolutely obsessed lately with the tv remote. If she sees one of us pick it up, she lunges for it. I have gotten to where I give it to her to play with (after putting it on DVD or something so it doesn't mess any tv settings up). She is so cute. Unfortunately we couldn't get a pic while she was pointing it and pushing buttons, but we got several of her deciding it looked tasty enough to put in her mouth!

Unsuspecting that daddy is taking a picture!
I think daddy has been spied!
Abby is still in love with her Rascal. Jamie said that she doesn't seem super interested in Cooper, but when Abby sees Rascal she lights up and lunges for him. She tries to pet him but usually this amounts to him licking her, her giggling and him licking her again. She then will still try to pet him and sometimes she has made him yelp by grabbing his ear or beard.
This past week has been wonderful. Austin and Abby seem to really be getting along. Austin loves on his baby sister. He has held her, played with her, fed her.....but for some strange reason he doesn't want to change poopy diapees! I don't know why lol :). Tracy has been taking half days and spending some time with him each day. Today they went bowling. Tomorrow night is his last night here and we go to Gattitown.
